About the seeds, I thought, perhaps wrongly, that only the giant sunflowers produced an edible bounty (at least by human standards.) Our flowers average a more modest six inches across.
In any case, we'll probably leave the seeds for the birds to eat; although I might try to rescue some for sowing next year - especially from the sunflower with the purplish petals!
